This small batch bottling of Tomintoul has been created by specially selecting Tomintoul aged in exceptional ex-bourbon American oak barrels, which are then married and finished in hand selected Caribbean rum barrels. This process of "finishing" creates a beautifully rich, complex and full-flavoured single malt. Fresh and bright with aromas of raspberry blossom, coconut oil. Parma violets and custard Danish. Layres of muscovado sugar, iced buns and cider toffee bound with lotus biscuits, nougat and coconut cream. And for the finish sweet butterscotch and chocolate enclairs fading into warming cake spice linger.
Nose: Vibrant malt and sweet florals are joined by buttery pastry and coconut husks.
Palate: Caramelised brown sugar, sweet cinnamon, and nutty nougat, with chocolate honeycomb and cakey spices gathering beneath.
